May 17th-23rd
This was the first week of the OHSU farmers market, and Tilly and I went after coming back from playgroup. It was very rainy but we enjoyed the music and people. We didn't have Jordan and Topher over this week, so we enjoyed the rainy Wednesday playing inside. Thursday night we all went to the student awards banquet, where Richard's VACUUM project won runner up. Richard went to the Follies Friday night which is like a roast of the first years so there were lots of laughs. Saturday we all went to the children's museum to meet Richards grade school friend and his family. The girls had tons of fun and we bumped into so many friends. Sunday Richard went to a potluck while Tilly and I stayed in and rested. The weather has been mostly rainy so we have been keeping busy with indoor fun, and trying to pack for our summer move.

May 10-16th
Monday was a busy day for Richard, he had a Health Policy Interest Group meeting after class, then went to and elder care visit at a local retirement community in the afternoon. After a quick trip home he went to film a music video for his band Xul Solar, then right to AFP study group. Tuesday he met with his preceptor for next year in Palliative Care. Thursday was his exam, but he rushed right over to Tilly's well-child appointment to be with her as she got 6 shots! After that he went to Beaverton High School to talk to students about the brain. Friday after precept, we all went over to Alia and Eric's house to talk to them about the nanny position that I will be starting when we get back to town in August.

May 3rd-9th
Tilly and I went to do some errands downtown on Tuesday and bumped into a friend on the street car who invited us to a playgroup at Isobel's clubhouse. We had such a great time and can't wait to go back. That night we went out to dinner with the FMIG which Richard will be co-chairing next year. Wednesday we celebrated Brunos birthday and cinco de mayo with Jordan and Topher and took turns putting the sombrero on Bruno's head- I'm sure he loved that! We also cooked a strawberry-rhubarb pie for TSO appreciation day. Thursday we went to story time at the library, met a lot of new friends, and enjoyed the extra time they added. That night Richard and I dropped Tilly off at a friend's house and went to the OHSU Alumni Awards Dinner. It was a lot of fun to see all the doctors and students I know. We all went to the farmers market on Saturday and stocked up on lots of goodies, while running into a few friends. Sunday was Mothers day so I got the special treatment, we had a big breakfast, lunch outside in the beautiful weather, and out to eat for sushi and ice cream.
On Thursday, Richard helped organize the Annual Rebecca Landau social justice lecture, this year presented by Dr Robert Lawrence from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. Friday he went to the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians conference downtown, where he ran into Dr Rinehart, with whom he did his summer observership. Saturday, he helped with the Global Oregon kickoff, and got to sit in on brainstorming sessions for his friends' journey to Columbia this summer, where they will assess the need for a hydroplant in a small mountainous village.

April 26th- May 2nd
This week has been so busy for us. Tilly and I had a playdate/ORFN meeting where I accepted the position of president starting next month. Later that day we went to Picture People and had some very cute pictures taken of the three of us. Tuesday I let Tilly help me bake some cookies, which turned out great and just a cup or so of flour was tossed all over. We played with Jordan and Topher on Wednesday and went for a few walks. We had David over for dinner that night for yummy mushroom lasagna. On Thursday we had a party with Moses, Jordan, and Topher all over in the evening, we had fun dancing around and playing music (Moses sang us many songs including one he made up for Topher and Tilly). Its seems like Friday I was cleaning all day with lots of help from Tilly, at one point I was straightening books and noticed she was going in and out of her room, I found out she had taken all the folded clothes from the laundry hamper and stuffed them in her half open bottom drawer!! What a helper! Saturday Richard took Tilly to the farmers market and watched the May Day dancers, while I stayed home and worked on some sewing. Later that night we celebrated Cinco de Mayo style at the Sanders home for Davids birthday.
Richard saw a standardized patient on Monday, and saw his baby beeper patient on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning he had a leadership breakfast with his advisor. Thursday he had an exam and that night he had the last session of his health reform elective. Saturday he saw one of his ADHD patients. Today he was interviewed by a KBOO and Street Roots reporter about the vacuum project.

April 19-25th
This week Tilly and I had Jordan and Topher over on Wednesday as usual, that will be a weekly thing now until we leave for the summer. Its always fun to have friends for Tilly to play with and its really fun to see how she interacts with an older girl and younger boy. The next day we met a few friends from story time at the zoo and stayed for quite a while, she had tons of fun with the goats, and birds, but liked running around more than looking at the other animals.
Richard taught the Brain in a Box program on Tuesday at a local middle school.Friday he organized a noon time PNHP speaker series event on the new health bill that went very well. 50 students from the school of medicine, dental, nursing and pharmacy showed up to hear Dr. Huntington speak.
That weekend we drove down to Bend, OR for Oregon Medical Association house of delegates meeting. Tilly and I had a blast swimming in the pool at the hotel while Richard was at his meetings. We attended the banquet with him Saturday night and were proud when he and 2 other students accepted a donation for the med school from the OMA. We drove back in the beautiful scenery of the mountains surrounding us and horses and cows galore on the side of the road.
